ASUSTeK EZ Flash 2 BIOS ROM Utility V 3.06 Can’t read disk?

April 5th, 2013

Just a reminder for those of you trying to flash your Motherboard ROMs to new versions.

In case you wonder why the utility can’t read the file you placed on the C drive of your XP, Vista, Windows 7, etc.

Most old utilities only read FAT32 partitions.

In order to flash your Motherboard just do the following:

1. Format a USB Stick to FAT32

2. Copy the Unzipped ROM file to the USB and rename it to something short such as the last 4 numbers (ex. 0603.ROM)

3. Reboot and enter the EZ tool (ex. Alt+F2)

4. Check the different drive letters until you find your USB Stick

5. Backup your current ROM with the B key (enter some name here)

6. Update/Load the new ROM and wait for the whole deleting/writing

7. Reboot and Enter BIOS. Check that your configuration is in tact.

8. Enjoy
