PLESK 10 Domain Disabled

January 30th, 2012

Yeah, that’s the reason for the domain being disabled for such a long time.
The hosting service for the blog is gently provided by a dear friend of mine however none of us noticed that my subscription for the control panel has expired few days back and this turned the website to the plesk parking page. Anyways we’re back online but let me share a valid experience on enabling domain service through the plesk API.

1. make sure you check the domain status
/usr/local/psa/bin/domain -i soteks.org

From the result of the above check the Domain status and Domain Expiration Date:

2. To set new expiration date if the domain has expired use the following:
/usr/local/psa/bin/subscription_settings -u soteks.org -expiration -1
This should set the expiration date to Unlimited.

3. Try to ON the domain
/usr/local/psa/bin/domain –on soteks.org

I got this error when I tried the above:
An error occurred during turning domain on/off: The domain is suspended because the subscription is still suspended.

4. Check the subscription status again:
/usr/local/psa/bin/subscription -i soteks.org

Domain status: This user account and user’s domain were suspended

5. Use the webspace-on option to activate a domain subscription that might have expired or be disabled:
/usl/local/psa/bin/subscription –webspace-on soteks.org

This took some time for the plesk reconfiguration to take place but as a result the domain expiration is unlimited and domain status is OK and last but not least the website is back on so I can continue to share my rather useless experience with the public.
Good night!
